Aca Los Tacos Celebrates 6 years in Playa del Carmen; not an easy feat!!!

Owner,Daniel Ramirez Calderon, took over the location on the corner of 5th Avenue and Constituyentes in 2004 where Kick Ass Shrimp used to be, and it has become a popular favorite among visitors and locals visiting and living in Playa del Carmen. In 2005 they won the Best of the Best contest on Playa Maya News for the best local tacos Al Pastor, and they have been pleasing customers with their fresh salsas, delicious tacos, and cold beer ever since. Congratulations to Daniel and his wonderful staff for 6 successful years in Playa del Carmen!

The beach restoration project began earlier this week and is already complete between Juarez and Constituyentes. The project will now move south to Playacar to restore the beaches along Phase I. It’s great to see Playa del Carmen surging ahead and become better and better!

Monday, January 11, Playa del Carmen began a project to restore its beaches. The restoration, which will cover 2.6 miles of beach, is set to be completed in February 2010.

A few months ago, Google added all of the streets in Playa del Carmen to their maps section, finally delivering a clear and accurate map of Playa del Carmen. A few weeks ago, they enhanced this by adding Street View; a street level, panoramic perspective of almost all of Playa del Carmen. We have started to implement this technology into our local restaurant and bar guides.

This year we are proud to announce that we are adding to our media family, and we have hired 3 new people to help with the everyday operations of our little company; Musketeer Media. Virtual Playa has taken on a new person to assist our Web Guy in web development and consulting, Playa Maya News is lucky enough to have found someone to do some new promotional projects and sales, and we have also hired an administrative assistant to help with billing, appointments, and overall organization. We will be making a formal announcement in January so stay tuned.
