An international ballet performance will be held this weekend in Playa del Carmen.

Gala Danza 2009 will be held at the Occidetnal Grand Flamenco Xcaret this coming weekend. This will certainly be a rare treat, and worth checking out. Julio Iglesias to Play a Free Concert in Playa del Carmen!

Julio Iglesias, famous for his romantic ballads, has a career that has spanned 4 decades. Known as the “Suave Spanish Gentleman” Julio has sold more than 300 million copies of his recorded 77 albums and has performed more than 5,000 concerts. Local couple enjoys the 5th Annual Jazz Festival in Playa del Carmen.

Since my fiancée Honza, moved from Holland to Playa del Carmen a few months ago, we were able to enjoy the 5^th Annual Riviera Maya Jazz Festival together. The program looked promising, and with our history of the famous Dutch North Sea Jazz Festival, which we both had visited for many years, we were in for a treat.

Center 8 Studio, in Playa del Carmen, to host an evening of music, candles and wine with renowned singer Julie Delgado.

Californian Vocalist, Julie Delgado,  brings her charisma and sultry voice to Playa del Carmen's holistic fitness center on Friday, December 5, 2008. An evening of Christmas songs and wonderful ballads with the incredible Julie Delgado.  Bring a pillow to sit on and get cozy, Center 8 will provide the music and wine.

The Fifth Annual Riviera Maya Jazz Festival in Playa del Carmen- November 27th, 28th, and 29th, 2008.

BPM Festival Returns to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico-January 2-11, 2009

Escape the winter doldrums with the 2nd Annual BPM Festival as it descends upon the stunningly beautiful Playa Del Carmen in Mexico on January 2nd - January 11th, 2009. This year’s festival has been extended into a full 10 day affair with a roster of first class international DJs and world class talent performing on the Riviera Maya. This Sunday, April 20^th, 2008 there will be a reggae festival called the Peace and Love Fest here in Playa del Carmen.

Seventies R&B funk band, Tower of Power, rocked Mamita's Beach in Playa del Carmen.

Although they have obviously gone through a few personnel changes in the past 40 years, Tower of Power put on quite a show at the Fifth Annual Rivera Maya Jazz Festival. With 10 members taking the stage the group got the crowd funking and grooving over the 2 hour set. The horn section got down, and the lead vocalist was a true showman. Tower of Power definitely was the highlight of the festival for those of us that like to shake our groove thangs! Check out the photo gallery below.
