Let the Growth Begin, McDonalds is Your Kind of Place! McDonald's opened it's biggest store yet on the Careterra Federal in the parking lot of the Chedraui department store. For a McDonalds, it is humongous complete with a wonderful area for the kids to play. And for those of you who find the heat exhausting, go in and have a McFlurrie and you will freeze as the the blasting air condition will transport you to an Igloo outside of Yellowknife Canada! This place broke ground in February and it's already open. They build so fast here that you can barely blink your eye and boom, there it is!
In other news, Sam's Club is half way done. On the Careterra Federal in front of Playacar, she will be open for business as soon as you can say "What the heck..............Sam's Club in Playa del Carmen?". In the PMN survey, most of you locals are thrilled to have her here. The vote was 66.7% in favor and 21.7% against. So, get ready Playa, here she comes!
La Gran Plaza also broke ground west of the Careterra Federal. With 4 Major Department Stores a 12 Theatre Cineapolis Movier Theatre and 80 other stores, this major mall promises to be a center attraction for locals who are building Playa del Carmen into a major city in Quintana Roo. It is expected to open in summer 2005
