When they arrived in August to furnish their condominium they decided to trade in the cold Toronto winters for year round Playa del Carmen life. They liked the idea of raising their sons in a more relaxed environment, and to reinvent themselves, and get away from the “rat race” we all so often fall prey to. Zen comes from a long time career in real estate, and Georgina was a Canadian immigration official, and although they had a comfortable life in Toronto, they said they rarely saw each other or their 2 sons, Akzel and Zen.

They decided on opening the café for a variety of reasons, one being their love of coffee and pastries, but they also love interacting with the public. The family is in unanimous agreement that they have no regrets of completely turning their life upside down, and plan on making Playa del Carmen their home indefinitely. Café del Soul just opened last month, and they are off to a great start! So if you are interested in a great caffeinated jumpstart to your day, a slice of exquisite cheesecake, a real roast beef sandwich served with horse radish on a fresh baguette, or a crisp and fresh Greek salad, you should stop by Café del Soul, and tell them that the PMN team sent you!
