Description
Café Café - Hey Ya! Hey Ya! Are these the best brownies in Mexico? You think you got it, oh you think you got it, but got it just don’t get it until you try these bad boyz. So I walk into to this colorful place called Café Café and think, okay another internet café with bland American coffee and stale cakes bought from Bimbo or something. Opps! Pre-Qualifying! Wrong! I think I just met the best baker in Mexico! She's from Denmark - I should've known! Anyway, the first thing I noticed is the colors – an off red – pinkish if you will – hard to describe really. Apparently, it's the color of Danish flag. And then I noticed the computers and then the signs saying – Almond Merengue Pie, Handmade Ice Cream, and Brownies. Well, first things first. I met Mimi, one half of the owners and principle managers and she suggested I first try the Chicken Bacon Sandwich……..hungry, I said okay! A big huge sandwich came out of the kitchen packed with avocados, lettuce, chicken, tomato and more……..great stuff!
Daniel Reyes from Mexico City and Mimi Swane Lund from Copenhagen, Denmark are the owners and managers of Café Café. Daniel worked in Real Estate and Mimi worked in Advertising. “We started 6 months ago. We moved together to this wonderful place and found something we could do together ” Mimi says. “.... the hard work is worth it when you see how happy simles on people" says Mimi. Café Café offers great food, great pastries and imported coffee from Italy. They also offer internet service, faxing, and phone calls worldwide. Of course, the music is very kewl as well. Sophia Martin and and Hillary Higgins both from Vail, Colorado were in the day I passed by and they just had the smile of the happy customer on their faces. “This is our favorite place. It has great sandwiches and deserts” says Hillary. “And the brownies are to die for. We come here 3 times a day. Mimi is so nice” says Sophia.
“I cannot decide which is better - Mimi and Daniel, or their baked goods. To be very serious, Mimi is one of the best bakers EVER - and if you know me - you know that I know from whence I speak” writes a fan on Café Café’s web site forum. Café Café is located in the Plaza in Puerto Aventuras. It’s is next door to RivMaya Real Estate. They are open 6 days a week and closed on Sundays. Seems, it’s true that Puerto Aventuras has great eateries posing as net cafes – hum?
