The Inside Real Estate Scoop Some people tell me I’m very opinionated. I would have to agree. However that opinion is developed by handling literally hundreds of Real Estate related enquiries each week. So what is happening in the Real Estate market? Here’s the short scoop. If you see it and you like it - buy it. It’s only going to go up in price if you wait - or it simply won’t be available..........
I feel privileged to meet so many of Playa Del Carmen’s newcomers, and there are a lot of them from all over the world. Many are excited entrepreneurs, ready to bring their ideas here and add still more diversity to our ever changing and growing Playa del Carmen. This continuous influx of business people and investors are driving up prices. It’s simply supply and demand.
One look at the city plan and you will see there’s no end in sight. Hence if you see it and you like it buy it. The Real Estate market has seen about 20% increases in property values annually for the past few years. If you compare Playa del Carmen to any other top beach vacation destination in the world, it’s still a bargain to buy here. In the very near future you are going to see very high end high quality development throughout the city. This is great for many investors, however there’s still a big void we need to fill. We need middle price range single family housing for those of us making Playa del Carmen our new home. It doesn’t have to be in the tourist zone, it really should not be in the tourist zone. If we had a nice neighborhood with all the services, and houses 150 to 250 m2 in the 175,000 to $250,000 USD range, then they would be selling faster than they could be built. Will we see this in and around Playa del Carmen? I don’t know but I hope so. That’s the scoop.
