Real Estate Market gets a Big Boost from AMPI
AMPI Riviera Maya, the only local professional real estate association in Playa del Carmen, has just signed an agreement with MLSMexico.com to provide its members an exclusive MLS database. The new president of AMPI, Mr. Ernesto Riquelme has announced the agreement at his Remax Playa offices on April 2 and has declared this day a new direction for AMPI.
“AMPI is moving fast to organize the real estate market to improve it’s efficiency for the buyers, sellers, and people of the community and having an online MLS is part and parcel of this vision”. Mr. Riquelme said.
AMPI has been in Mexico for over 50 years and in Playa del Carmen since 1998. Mr. Riquelme has been president since this past Nov. and has been steadily revamping the association to meet the needs of the market. Currently AMPI Riviera Maya has 12 members.
Mr. Riquelme’s vision calls for over 50 members within 1 year and with an additional 100 agent members as well.
“Having a powerful tool like MLS is just one of the tools we are giving our members. Shortly we will provide educational courses for members and certification. More, we will be providing updated rules and regulations to protect our members and their clients.” Riquelme says.
 Joel Barker, President of MLSMexico.com in Guadalajara, Mexico says the deal requires that MLS provide the database to AMPI members exclusively whereby agents can search the database to provide clients access to the market. “With MLS, we kick up the market into an efficient machine that everyone can count on. It is all about efficiency and performance and that’s what we provide.” Mr. Barker exclaims.
Mr. Riquelme has been living in Playa del Carmen for the last 5 years, is married with one child and one on the way. Previously, he was living in Cancun for 25 years “…..when there were just 4 hotels” as Mr. Riquelme says. “Now, I am invested here, I live here, and want to see those that contribute to the market get value that is congruent with our dreams, aspirations, and global competitive reality. My Partners, David Sanchez Garcia, and Donald Danard have demanded our market be great and this is what we are doing to contribute to make it so.” Riquelme explains.
