Meet Rob and Michele Kinnon- Realtors, Parents, and Adventurers.   

Rob and Michele Kinnon first came to Playa del Carmen in February 2004 for a family holiday, and had made the leap to full time residents by December 2004. Originally from Albany, New York, Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya appealed to them on many fronts. They saw the opportunity to run their own business as well as raise their children in a different country enriching their lives with another language and culture.  

For many years they owned their own company in the United States and were professional investors, buying distressed residential properties and rehabbing them to either re-sell or rent out to students and lower income residents. But as so many of us know with your own business, and especially in real estate, stress can rear its ugly head! With the birth of their third child in 2003 it became clear that having 31 buildings and 115 units was not conducive to family life. Although it would take them 4 more years to settle on the Riviera Maya, and make the transition from the posh New York lifestyle; they don't regret it for a moment.

Originally they had hope to invest in condominiums here in Playa del Carmen to use as vacation rental properties, but a development opportunity, Marina Turquesa in Puerto Aventuras, seemed like more of a fit once they arrived. Through Marina Turquesa they developed a professional relationship with local real estate company Realty Executives, which then segued into them doing sales as well as research and development for Realty Executives. After a successful partnership and great experience in learning about the local market, Rob and Michele decided to branch out on their own, and once again be their own bosses.

Through Realty Executives, Rob and Michele befriended Bric International owners Marcus and Kristin Roehmer, who did both real estate sales and vacation rentals. Originally the two couples had a professional working relationship with Rob and Michele referring Bric International rental clients. By December 2007, Rob and Michele joined forces with Marcus and Kristin with Rob and Michele focusing solely on real estate sales, and Marcus and Kristin focusing exclusively on the vacation rental side of the business. Although they now share the same name they are independent from one another, but have developed a complete "turn-key" business for buyers looking to invest in the area all the while sharing the same business philosophy and work ethic that can be hard pressed to find in the area.
