Slow season in Playa? Not anymore.

This year we are breaking all the trends of the past. Typically we have seen an overall slow down in business May, June and again in Sept, Oct. As Playa Del Carmen and the Riviera Maya area grows in population there becomes a larger permanent consumer base. With that we are seeing a huge amount of development in the infrastructure to support the permanent population.

An example is the Grand Plaza business district complete with a Mall of America and other large department stores. On the opposite end of town you will have another shopping area complete with a Wal-Mart.

You will also see more services coming available. We at one Stop Real Estate are very excited to be working with an American mortgage company to be able to offer competitive home and construction financing to our clients.

As the cities business base grows we will see more competition which in turn will create better pricing and a higher level of individual service. Playa Del Carmen is just getting better every day! This is a very important and exciting time in the growth of our community.

In the early stages of community development the economy is completely supported by tourism. Now don’t get me wrong we will always be a tourist city. The difference is that as we reach this level of development we start to have a solid base of business from our residents. This helps to stabilize the area economy; it’s good for everyone.

I think we owe a big thank you and welcome to all those people who have chosen to make Playa del Carmen their new home. The days of the seasonal economy are becoming a thing of the past for playa.
