by JP the Editor Certain plots of land in the Colossio, an area that is north of Avenida Constituyentes, had been designated by the city as tourist areas. Thus, the cost of permits and other building in these areas are governed by the designation. Some residents of the Colossio area of town feel that such designation has increased their costs of development and thus are concerned that they are unable to meet this requirement. Today some residents brought their concerns about the designation to City Hall in hopes of getting the designation adjusted.
"The democratic process is working and is effective" says Maria Octavia Lopez, a resident of Colossio. "Our concerns are being heard and it is wonderful day for democracy". The Colossio area of town is a fast growing colonia and is changing rapidly. Officials are working efficiently and fast to make sure that the area grows in a planned and controlled manner. Through upcoming features, PMN will continue to follow the challenges faced by all as our city grows and grows. Comments (0)

Juan Pedro Gomez, a resident of the Colossio says “The fees are higher when our land is classified as tourist and we simply cannot afford them. If our land is classified as residential, then our fees will be lower and we can afford them. I know our mayor, he is fair and good guy. I know he is working on it to help us. We are here to let him know that he has our support in making the changes that improve our city planning.”
