Once you buy your dream property how do you locate a reputable property management company? Lucrative real estate investment opportunities are almost appearing overnight in the fastest growing tourist destination in the world. It is no surprise that more and more tourists become interested in owning a piece of property in Playa del Carmen or on the coast of the Riviera Maya..... After the initial obstacles of buying property have been overcome, like choosing a real estate agent that correctly advises you in the legal form of owning a property, and the real estate property that fits your budget and reflects your personal taste, the real work begins. Imagine you have become the proud owner of your new vacation home or investment project. Now who is the one who will take care of your property during your absence? Who will make sure that you generate rental income so your investment indeed becomes profitable? You are in need of a person who speaks the Spanish language, is familiar with the customs and regulations of this area, and has a professional network that enables him or her to maintain your property and provide you with a monthly or weekly rental income. The first option is to choose the real estate agency that you bought your property from, providing they offer this service of course. The only disadvantage is that property management is not their core business, which is an entirely different ball game than selling real estate. The second option would be an independent person or friend that you think you can trust your property with. The third and most recommended option is hiring a professional property management agency. What do you need to look for when searching for good property management, whether it be through a real estate agent, independent person or a rental agency? The first thing you want to look for in a property management company is professionalism. Can they provide you with clear information on their commissions and services, preferably in writing? Do you feel you can trust your new baby with these people? Do they have a professional organization that includes administrative staff, a maintenance team, gardeners and maids? How will the communication with you be set up? How will they promote your property? Do they have an accessible website? You may ask for an honest rental income expectation, a monthly income and expense statement backed up by nota´s and facturas and reliable communication. Playa del Carmen is the host of many professional and dependable property management agencies. It is up to you to choose the one that you feel you can trust and will meet your personal needs.
