Now I Must Be Officially Allowed to Drive in Mexico?
Wow! I got my Mexican Drivers License!
I was born and raised in France, so, I got a French drivers license. Later moving to Germany, I needed a German License. Maybe I could have exchanged it? No, I had to redo the test, not the driving part but the written exam! They told me I could do it in French instead of German. At the time I thought that it might be easier! “Nope” something was lost in the translation and I flunked! After a dull “learn by heart” study, I tried again and passed!
Now I have two drivers’ licenses! Great! In the early 80’s I moved to the USA, and needed to have an American License. So I can exchange my license, Right?

The Appeal – and the Reality – of the Riviera Maya
Want to Stay Here Forever?
Where would you look to live? Personally, if we were to live on the Caribbean Coast, one of the islands might suit us very well. We’re scuba divers, after all, and these waters offer some of the best diving in the world. And we love Playa del Carmen. This is always where we spend our first and last nights when we explore Quintana Roo. It’s close (about 30 minutes) to the Cancún airport and it has great bars and restaurants, most located on a mile-long pedestrian walkway.
And then there’s Cancún. For many people, Cancún is the only place in Mexico they have visited. That’s a shame; because to us, Cancún is more like South Beach of Miami than Mexico….which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, of course. If you want sun and fun accompanied by all-night discos, your favorite chain restaurants and hordes of other foreign tourists, then Cancún is your place.

Café Café - Hey Ya! Hey Ya!
Are these the best brownies in Mexico? You think you got it, oh you think you got it, but got it just don’t get it until you try these bad boyz.
So I walk into to this colorful place called Café Café and think, okay another internet café with bland American coffee and stale cakes bought from Bimbo or something.
Opps! Pre-Qualifying! Wrong! I think I just met the best baker in Mexico! She's from Denmark - I should've known!
Anyway, the first thing I noticed is the colors – an off red – pinkish if you will – hard to describe really. Apparently, it's the color of Danish flag. And then I noticed the computers and then the signs saying – Almond Merengue Pie, Handmade Ice Cream, and Brownies.

This Musician's CDs aim to tune you up.
Guitarist Daniel Cordero is releasing a series of CDs that mix soothing guitar music with sublimal tones designed to promote health.
Daniel Cordero, a 24-year-old professional musician who has suffered from severe hearing loss since he was born, has utilized his in-depth studies of the effects of sound and sound frequencies to develop a series of three CDs, which he developed to positively affect human health and perception.
Cordero is well known as the lead singer and bass guitarist with the rock group Asi Es La Vida, based in Guadalajara. He began studying the guitar when he was 14 years old. He recounts how he "heard" what he was playing by resting his cheekbone against the wood of the instrument, the bone acting as a conduit for the notes' frequencies. It was his understanding that sound is really vibration with different notes vibrating at different frequencies that led him to study and experimentation.

By Suzan Haskins – International Living / Mexico
Editor’s Note: The following is an excerpt from an article International Living’s Suzan Haskins wrote for a publication called Island Properties Report. A few days ago, Suzan wrote about the island of Cozumel. This part of the story focuses on Isla Mujeres.
Mexico’s Sister Islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres - Different Stages of Maturity.
Part 2: Isla Mujeres - The Innocent Sister Island
If Cozumel is too ‘advanced’ for your tastes, you will be happy to know that little Isla Mujeres, just a ferry ride away from Cancun, is still the pretty, unspoiled little sister.

Do you Have that Playa Maya Sex Appeal?
Exuding sex appeal is a learned behavior, not something that just comes additionally with a cute figure or big salary. Here's how you can pump up the jam and increase your pleasing proficiency.
Be a Phony Baloney
There are a lot of things you shouldn't do when you're trying to flirt with that voluptuous Latina or that Italian hunk across the beach - like lying about your marital status, for one.
But it's safe to be a phony about one thing - and that's confidence. Think you need to be perfect to pull it off? No way Jose.

As seen on the Playa Maya News web site ….the weather forecast…..
Cancun International Airport
12 Jun, 2004 21:45 EDT
Overcast 75.2F Light Drizzle
And we are in Paradise!?
Okay I am moving to Cancun right now ..... it drizzles in Cancun and rains in Playa!! So what? No, as a matter of fact it does not rain in Playa...it pours, it is raining buckets!
Hurrah some rain! Thanks to the Mayan God "Chaac" ... we needed it badly ... This reminds me of some Indian dance in upstate NY when it was so hot and we prayed that it would rain ..a bit ... we were very lucky when it worked ... rain came, pouring buckets...and we did not find that very funny anymore!

Cave Diving in the Riviera Maya |

Protec Advanced Training Facility, can take you to extreme depths! Okay, I am not a diver, I know I am in the small minority, but due to some personal health issues I am unable to dive, but I am quite happy to be a snorkler on the surface. In particular I am fascinated by the cenotes and cave system’s around the Rivera Maya, and often explore them on my own. If I’m in the right place at the right time I track the lights of the divers glowing from the depths below. This allows me a brief peek at the decorated caves that lay mysteriously below me..... |
