By Suzan Haskins – International Living / Mexico
Editor’s Note: The following is an excerpt from an article International Living’s Suzan Haskins wrote for a publication called Island Properties Report. A few days ago, Suzan wrote about the island of Cozumel. This part of the story focuses on Isla Mujeres.
Mexico’s Sister Islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres - Different Stages of Maturity.
Part 2: Isla Mujeres - The Innocent Sister Island
If Cozumel is too ‘advanced’ for your tastes, you will be happy to know that little Isla Mujeres, just a ferry ride away from Cancun, is still the pretty, unspoiled little sister.

Do you Have that Playa Maya Sex Appeal?
Exuding sex appeal is a learned behavior, not something that just comes additionally with a cute figure or big salary. Here's how you can pump up the jam and increase your pleasing proficiency.
Be a Phony Baloney
There are a lot of things you shouldn't do when you're trying to flirt with that voluptuous Latina or that Italian hunk across the beach - like lying about your marital status, for one.
But it's safe to be a phony about one thing - and that's confidence. Think you need to be perfect to pull it off? No way Jose.

As seen on the Playa Maya News web site ….the weather forecast…..
Cancun International Airport
12 Jun, 2004 21:45 EDT
Overcast 75.2F Light Drizzle
And we are in Paradise!?
Okay I am moving to Cancun right now ..... it drizzles in Cancun and rains in Playa!! So what? No, as a matter of fact it does not rain in Playa...it pours, it is raining buckets!
Hurrah some rain! Thanks to the Mayan God "Chaac" ... we needed it badly ... This reminds me of some Indian dance in upstate NY when it was so hot and we prayed that it would rain ..a bit ... we were very lucky when it worked ... rain came, pouring buckets...and we did not find that very funny anymore!

International Living / Mexico: Mexico’s Sister Islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres - Different Stages of Maturity
Part 1: Cozumel
Cozumel is growing fast – it may be your last chance to buy before prices skyrocket.
When I first set eyes on her, ten years ago, she was quietly beautiful, gentle and naïve. Today, she is shamefully brash, showy and even garish in her maturity.
I couldn’t help making this analogy as I recently visited the island of Cozumel, just off Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Ten years ago, when I first visited Cozumel as a newly certified scuba diver, I fell in love with the island for its beautiful white-sand beaches, its crystal-clear Caribbean waters and its languid, laid-back lifestyle. Its reefs teemed with aquatic life, diving there was like being in an overstuffed aquarium of unimaginably colorful sea critters. Then, everything changed.................

The Frugal Gourmet - Xlapak
Bargain Lunch Anyone? A Frugal Gourmet Must!
“Xlapak” (meaning Old Wall in Mayan) is probably better known as “The Smoothie Place on 5th. The sign says: “The Best in Town” and this is not a lie! The smoothies are a plus. Check out the extensive menu and choose one!
It gets better! Xlapak also offers a LUNCH SPECIAL at a mere $49 Pesos! It is served until 4:00 PM. This can make an early dinner for some. The lunch not only looks good, it tastes great!
Appetizers are either chicken soup or fried rice; there is a choice of 4 entrees, and drinks of chaya or freshly made lemonade. Did I forget to mention the corn chips, salsa, & tortillas?
