|
Kool and The Gang put on one heck of a show at Mamita's Beach in Playa del Carmen.
Kool and The Gang were one of the last performers of the 4th Annual Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, and they played to a jam packed audience on Friday night. Even though they have been around since the 1970's, and have gone through various member changes, their funky, jazz, R and B sound never gets old to their fans. With the sounds of "Ladies Night", "Celebration", "Jungle Boogie", and "Get Down On It" the crowd was dancing to the groove of Kool and The Gang. How can you go wrong with funky Rand B on the Caribbean? Answer: You can't! Check out the pictures below....

An Update from The Bomberos in Playa del Carmen November 2006 |
|
|
|
|
Tuesday, 21 November 2006 |
|
The Bomberos have had a fantastic year, and 2007 looks to be even more promising.
Hola a todo! We are having a great 2006. On
November 15th we had a ceremony at the fire house, with the Patronado
Bomberos de la Riviera Maya and Foundacion Bomberos Civil Protection Quintana Roo
I.A.P. in attendance. Two sets of keys were passed on to our Mayor; one set to an
ambulance donated to the Patronado by Calica, and a second set of keys to our
new Rescue boat. This boat is truly one of a kind at 29 feet long with twin
motors loaded with rescue gear and paramedic supplies; this boat is very high
tech and we have been working on it for the past year. Claudio Curioni, of Sea
Life Divers, has donated many hours to overseeing this project, and it has been
supported by many of our local dive shops as well. So thank you to Tank-Ha Dive Shop, Go Cenote,
and Extreme Marina, good job the boat is beautiful!

Hands on management, and attention to detail makes this boutique hotel special.
How do a civil litigation lawyer, and business systems
analyst, from San Francisco
end up owning a small boutique hotel in Playa del Carmen? Well, as we all know
everyone has quite a story on how and why they leave the comfort and
familiarity of secure jobs, homes, and families, and Tony and Cheri Head, of
Luna Blue Hotel and Garden are no different.

El Pirata to Celebrate 20 Years in Playa del Carmen |
|
|
|
|
Thursday, 16 November 2006 |
|
El Pirata, one of the oldest bars in Playa del Carmen, is going to have one heck of a party!
El Pirata, which is located right on the beach between 10th and 12th Street next to Blue Parrot, has survived multiple hurricanes, major development, and changes in the local market, and it is stll going strong after 20 years. If that isn't enough reason to celebrate 20 years in Playa del Carmen then I am not sure what is. With a swing bar, laid back attitiude, and jamming reggae tunes El Pirata is a absolute favorite among visitors and locals alike. So come on down and join the celebration......
