News from One Stop Real Estate in Playa del Carmen; a great time to invest in the Riviera Maya.
Have you been to Playa del Carmen lately? Wow, this
town is really on the move! There is street and building construction happening
every where. The city is pushing hard to upgrade city services; roads,
electricity, septic, and water services all over Playa del Carmen are being
worked on. It may cause some delays and confusion but it is impressive that the
city is willing to push hard to get a proper infrastructure in place as we
grow.
NO, we are not talking about people here, we are talking
about the latest sports bar to open in Playa del Carmen.
Pinche Gringos is the latest endeavor of Jimmy
Brown former owner of the No Name Bar. Large and open, it is a great place to catch
a game or grab a bite and a beer. With a huge projection television and
multiple flat screens throughout there are plenty of tables with a view.
Want something fun to do this weekend? Check out a few
options for your entertainment pleasure.
Whether you would like to attend an avant garde art show, or
chow down on wings and suds for Super Bowl XLI, here are a couple of things
happening around town this weekend.
Check out our new bar and nightlife guide for Playa del Carmen!
We have compiled a list with 9 categories and 61 individual bar and nightclub listings. We have included the name of the bar or club, a brief description, location,
and phone number, when available. We did not include hours and days of
operation due to the fact that nealry all of the local area bars are open all of the time! We suggest you call and find out hours and days if you so desire. These are not REVIEWS as we have not visited all of the bars or clubs that are listed, but rather a guide to enable you to
choose from a large variety of party options. It is a work in progress so we
will be adding more listings as we go, and if we missed your favorite spot send us the information and we will be happy to add it.
From Lisbon, to London, to the beaches of
Playa del Carmen; how Geofish Dive Shop came to be. Yet another great story on how we all end up here.
Paulo Macarico was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal,
but actually moved to Playa del Carmen from London where he had spent the past 19 years.
From Lisbon he originally went to London to study photo journalism, but was initially
distracted by the bright lights and fun of the bustling city of London, so school was put
on hold. He moved around various jobs over the next few years; first as a
bouncer at a London
club, then as a research officer for the Portuguese Tourist Board, and then he
landed a job with a Portuguese wedding photographer.
Meet Rodrigo Guerrero, Playa del Carmen resident, and mosaic
artist extraordinaire.
Mosaics is an art form which creates designs or
images by embedding small pieces of glass, stone, terracotta, or similar
material into a bed of cement. The earliest mosaics, found around the 4th
Century BC, were often panels or floors, but modern mosaics take many different
forms. Used both indoors and out, a popular focal point in recent years has
been pools and patios to bring a truly unique artistic light to outdoor
areas. The art of mosaics, in its various
forms, has been practiced for thousands of years, but mosaics as we know it, was
invented by the Greeks.
