Monday, 18 June 2007
I think Playa del Carmen has just now recovered from the 6th anniversary celebration this past Friday at Bar Ranita.
Locals and visitors all flocked to La Rana Cansada this past weekend to toast Thed and Pia on their continued success of long time local favorite, Bar Ranita in Playa del Carmen. The crowd poured onto the streets as people coiffed cocktails, listened to Greko spin tunes, and in general had a fantastic night out on the town. Congratulations Thed and Pia; here is to many more! News from the Mayakoba Golf Classic in the Riviera Maya
Friday, 08 June 2007
News and notes from the MGC in the Riviera Maya: June 2007.
One on one with "The Shark"
Q: As the course designer of El Camaleón, a PGA TOUR
professional and a businessman, how would you rate the inaugural Mayakoba Golf
Classic?
Greg Norman: I think it was a tremendous success, thanks mainly
to the dedication and leadership of OHL. Mayakoba is one of the finest luxury
resorts in the world and, due to OHL's vision, we are able to turn it into a
first-class sporting venue for one week of the year. Everything on the property
received rave reviews-especially from the players and the PGA TOUR-and the
credit for that goes to OHL and Mayakoba. We're fortunate to partner with them
on such an historic venture as Mexico's first-ever TOUR event. Everyone
involved is looking forward to doing it again in 2008-and making it even more
perfect.

Latiod de Mexico teaching Primary Care and Secondary Care courses in Playa del Carmen.
Latido de Mexico,
meaning “Heartbeat of Mexico” is Playa del Carmen’s first independent
company
dedicated to training of CPR, First Aid and AED*
use. An AED is a machine that analyzes the heart rhythm and, if
necessary, tells the user
to deliver a shock to a casualty of SCA. The shock, called
defibrillation,
helps the heart to re-establish an effective heart beat rhythm. With
this technology the survival rate can increase from 4-8% using CPR
alone to up to 73% by using an AED!
