One of the most popular things people like to do when visitng Mexcio is to go to an open market for locally made goods and souvenirs. I have spent many an hour in other parts of Mexcio at open markets and it is always something that I truly enjoy. After 5 years in the Playa del Carmen area that is something we are cetainly missing in our community. It is also one of our most frequently asked questions; where is the local market? Aside from the open market in Puerto Morelos on Sundays we are sorely lacking in that department......until now.....

Hi Animal Lovers
Bobby-dog and I were walking on Fifth avenue last Friday night and he found a
dog. She was curled up in a ball, trying to hide in a bit of grass on the side
of the road. I quickly ran Bobby home and came back armed with chicken, water,
a collar and leash. It was dark and all I could tell was that she wouldn't or
couldn't move and had a nasty apple-sized open wound on her hip as well as a
couple of smaller ones on her legs. I couldn't touch her, not even her head. I
didn't know whether she was badly injured or 'just' scared. She ate all of the
chicken and drank tons of water. I thought she had been hit by a car and might
have broken bones. Realizing that I couldn't move her alone, I sent out a text
for help that Christine and Andy answered.

There is an old saying in Mexico that goes, CUANDO EUA ESTORNUDA, MÉXICO SUFRE
PULMONÍA!!! which literally means, WHEN
THE USA SNEEZES, MEXICO CATCHES PNEUMONIA!!!. What this actually means is that every time
there is an economic crunch in the USA, Mexico’s economic situation
worsens. However, that is no longer the
case, or at least not in our neck of the woods.

a comfortable cozy atmosphere that encourages people to sit down, listen to
some cool retro lounge music while sipping on one of their many specialty
