Even if gaining a yoga teaching certification is not your goal, and you simply wish to improve your understanding of yoga in your body, this retreat will help you clarify yoga postures while being nurtured in a tranquil setting. You will learn breathing techniques to quiet the mind and reduce stress. learn methods for deeply relaxing your body,and you will learn to understand how to execute key yoga poses in a way that fits your own body.
All classes wil be lead by instructors Arielle Newman and Ellen de Jonge: Arielle Thomas Newman is a movement specialist with 22 years experience teaching Hatha Yoga. She has conducted Yoga By The Sea Vacations on the Caribbean Coast of Mexico since 1999. Her area of expertise is helping people find the correct alignment in their poses. She has studied with Erich Shiffmann, Judith Lasater, Rodney Yee, among others. Her articles on Yoga have appeared in Dance Magazine, La Quinta Magazine, and the Kansas City Star. She has over 6,000 hours of yoga teaching experience, and holds an MA in dance from UCLA. She trains yoga teachers in the United States and Mexico .
Ellen is Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200-hour level with the Yoga Alliance. She regularly teaches Aqua-Aerobics in addition to her popular Yoga By The Sea Power-Flow Classes . She has successfully completed the Power Flow Level 1 Teacher's Training Boot camp with master yoga teacher, Baron Baptiste.

Yoga By The Sea will be hosting yoga teacher training April 11th through May 8th in Playa del Carmen.
This certification program is in compliance with the 200 hour Yoga Alliance Standard, and will cover anatomy,class sequencing, ethics, philosophy,meditation,injury prevention, as well as theory and discussion. For students working towards a Yoga By The Sea Teaching Certification, they will have abundant opportunities to learn how to:
Ellen de Jonge specializes in teaching Power Yoga. She holds a Level II Yoga for EveryBody© Teaching Certificate and is a graduate of the Sports Academy in Amsterdam , where she earned a Sports Instructor's Degree.
