Britney Spears and Aerosmith in Playa del Carmen? Six Flags building an amusement park? Neil Diamond moving to the Riviera Maya?

Rumors heard out standing in the street say that there is to be a Rock Festival on XMAS day here in Playa and that Britney Spears is headlining with special guests Aerosmith. Wow, I thought! This is some show and I need to confirm.

So, I contacted Playa’s leading citizen, Java Joe, and he said and I quote “did you see the Lakers, they were outgunned by the Pistons – and no way Kobe’s going to the Clippers, no way” unquote. So what does that mean?

Is Britney coming or what?

Now, Pepe over at Druid Swimwear says he’s been talking to Jaguares, the seminal Mexican rock band about playing a rock n roll festival in 2005 over at the Stadium but said he’s heard nothing about Britney.

Finally, we went to Steve Moen, who is Playa’s most secretive underground authority on music and did I mention that he was the one who invented the internet – well that’s what he said, anyway, he said that the rumors are definitely true and that not only Britney is coming but great bands like Skinny Puppy, Van Halen, Justin Timberlake, Asi Es La Vida, Pearl Jam, The Skeletones, Twisted Nixon, The Pet Shop Boys, and even Jimi Hendrix are coming……… “but no way is Aerosmith coming – that’s a rumor man”. Of course, I asked him this question while he was slamming down his 27^th beer at La Rana Cansada while he screaming “Dang it, I am Bill Gates”. Do you think?

In other news – err rumor – Six Flags, an amusement park chain in the U.S.A. is said to be building it’s biggest and brightest new theme park right behind Chilly Willy’s. It’s supposed to have a Mayan themed rollercoaster and an Ice Rink – well this is what I heard on Mamitas Beach while sitting under the Palapa at Magali’s Explora Dive Center Wow! We are really growing! Ya think?

Finally, the big rumor round town is that Jessica Lange, Sam Shepard, Whitney Houston, and Neil Diamond all bought houses in the Sian Ka’an area. Rumor? Well, don’t look now………..cause, this one might be true………….
