 DJ's is located in the heart of Playa del Carmen on 12th Street between 5th and 10th Avenues had it's official Grand Opening this past Friday, and oh what a party! With 10 peso chilled chelas and 25 peso margaritas how could it go wrong?
Corona girls, a plethora of people, and endless beer being served up ice cold ,everyone had a fantastic time at the party. DJ, originally from the States, and Jaime from Northern Mexico, decided to join collaborative forces and open a local watering hole that was affordable and hip. Jaime has been in Playa del Carmen for the past 14 years, and DJ's bar is his eighth business that he has been involved in. Needless to say he knows the local business scene. and has plenty of practice from his fame as the owner/operator of El Oasis. D,J a former flight attendant, has been coming to Playa del Carmen for the past 11 years, and has been friends with Jaime just as long. Eight years ago he decided to base himself here, and commute to Detroit, Michigan when he was on duty. Just this past year he decided to take the plunge and follow a life long dream of opening a cool little bar in the Caribbean, and in August he and Jaime decided to partner on this latest project. When asked what the concept and vision for DJ's bar is, he responds with a grin ".....to bring back some of the old spirit of Playa del Carmen...." So congratulations to both DJ and Jaime for bringing cheap beer, a cool vibe, and some great beats to Playa del Carmen! Your success is a guarantee!
