Om Playa del Carmen Hotel Lounge Bar and Grill originally opened in 2003 and since then has become a required stop when on the trendy lounge circuit in Playa del Carmen. Centrally located on 12th Street, which is now famous for its nightlife, Om Playa del Carmen Hotel Lounge Bar and Grill can be found on the corner of Primera Privada and the beach. Om Playa del Carmen neighbors Coco Maya, The Blue Parrot, Kartabar, Al Cielo, and Diablito's Cha Cha Cha, which only adds to the festive atmosphere.

Known for its chill out lounge vibe Om Playa del Carmen offers great specialty cocktails, in-house DJ’s, a full restaurant menu , and an atmosphere for young beautiful people to come and enjoy the landscape of the nightlife scene in Playa del Carmen. Om Playa del Carmen has a night ambience like no other; as the sun sets on the picturesque Caribbean the beach revelers stop by for an early cocktail, and stay on into the evening as the music starts to spill out onto the streets. The Playa del Carmen celebrity sightings and cool decor evoke a sense of aloofness, but the highlight of Om Playa del Carmen is its lounge vibe: soft red lighting and secluded seating inside; or the outside tables along the perimeter where the Scenesters can see and be seen as they sip exotic cocktails and specialty tequilas.

One of the partners behind the success of Om Playa del Carmen is Angelo Minos. Originally born in Montreal, Canada to Greek parents, Angelo has an eclectic global background. He first came to Cancun in 1989, and eventually started working at Club Med where Cancun had a location. For years he would spend the winter months in Club Med Cancun working as a bartender, and in 1999 he met his current partner, Andrea Floridiana, as his boss at Club Med Cancun. An international traveler Angelo stayed only briefly in 1999 and then took off and worked other global hotspots such as; Paradise Island, Turks and Caicos, and Martinique. In the meantime Andrea left Club Med, and went to open a beach club in Tulum, and he and Angelo lost touch until 2003 when Angelo came and found his old friend. They decided to try Playa del Carmen in lieu of Tulum, and in 2004 bought out 2 of the original partners of Om Playa del Carmen, who wanted out of the nightlife biz. Enter Simone Portallupi, the third and original partner that helped open Om Playa del Carmen in 2003. Flash forward to 2007 and this intercontinental trio has created a Playa del Carmen trademark. With the hotel added in 2005, and the restaurant opening in February 2007 (and currently being revamped in December 2007), Om Playa del Carmen Hotel Lounge Bar and Grill is a “one stop shop” to nightlife, nibbles and shut eye.

Coming soon- A 2,000 square foot party suite. The party suite will be located on the fourth floor and boast panoramic views of the Caribbean beaches, have its own private Jacuzzi on the outside deck, and have full access to catering, restaurant, and bar services. With 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, full service kitchen, the suite will sleep up to 12 people and be one of a kind in Playa del Carmen.
