The shop opened on October 2nd 2004, and Jesus is now focusing on developing and growing the concept, and has been getting positive feedback from locals and tourist alike. Downstairs there is an extensive selection of cigars and accessories to peruse and choose from. If you go upstairs there is a stylish upscale lounge area where you can enjoy a cigar and your favorite cocktail. You may also rent your own locker for your customized cigar selection, which enables them to age and cure properly at the right teperature and humidity. Just last week, he had a well known Cuban cigar maker here for 2 days to hand roll cigars for the cigar lovers of Playa del Carmen. On December 11th it is Casa Del Habano’s official inauguration and Cuban, Alejandro Rabaina, of Robaina Cigars, will be visiting to offer his expertise to the throngs of fans sure to attend. General Manager, Jesus Gonzalez, offers expert knowledge and top notch service to all of his customers at Casa Del Habano. Originally from San Miguel de Allende, Jesus spent 20 years living and working in New York City prior to arriving in Cancun in 1987. He then spent the next 17 years teaching tennis, and in June he decided to resign from the rigors of tennis when he was offered the position to run the store here in Playa del Carmen.
La Casa Del Habano is located on 5th Ave. between 26th and 28th Street, and they are neighbors to none other then the new Cabalova!
