What Hurricane? It's not here but we could still feel its force.

It is Monday morning now and so far so good for the residents of Playa. The waves are high but they are still driven from a substantial distance off shore with no wind attached at the moment. Hurricane Ivan still appears on track to go between the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula and Cuba. Cuba is bracing for the worst of it...............

Last night as the worst was feared many shop keepers on 5th avenue were found boarding up their windows. Today many shops and restaurants will stay closed. Better safe than sorry. We may still get some major wind and rain from hurricane Ivan but at this point it looks like we may not get its full force. Sun tanning will be delayed until further notice. I wonder what happens to all the cruises booked for the beautiful Caribbean? We will keep you updated. Hurricanes tend to be unpredictable.
