Reggae Fest 2004 toasts it’s way into Playa del Carmen Crowds Go Wild! Organizers Thrilled! The 1st Annual Reggae Fest in Playa del Carmen on Saturday July 17 turned out to be by some accounts the biggest Reggae show ever kept in the Riviera Maya, literally. Some say 5,000, some say 10,000 people – hard to count as there were waves of hippie chicks, rasta men, and soaken peeps who shed their trendy and chic for hemp and music. Whatever the count, thousands of revelers and usual suspects invaded Playa Tutix for a day of fest, fun, and frolic. “Smoke” said a unidentified man as was he was caught dancing his way from the crowd into the nearby waves! “This place is wild man” said Joe Allen – a tour
Hot stars from Reggae and Dancehall – from Jamaica and even from the local community raged from 4pm to 10pm on the beach at Playa Tutix – Ja Mix and Passion held the evening and closed out with a barrage of tunes. Enjoy the pictures:
