Cenote Sam has discovered a treasured jewel in Tulum, no not in a cenote, but at The Hotel Latino in Tulum, Mexico!

They go by the name of Plugged!!, and they are an incredible musical group out of Mexico City. Sam arranged a private premiere in Playa del Carmen atop the Acanto Penthouse for an incredible night of music, friends, and fun. We had the distinct pleasure of seeing Plugged!! play here in Playa del Carmen, as they set the stage for their sure fire break out into the world wide music scene. These four incredible musicians were hidden among millions of young bands in Mexico City so it was difficult to break out into the music scene there. Lucky for them, the owner of The Hotel Latino in Tulum, heard a demo of theirs and invited them to come and play a couple of gigs. So they loaded up the van, and headed for the Riviera Maya to make their mark. Enter Cenote Sam, long time resident, and a veteran musician himself, he knew the moment he heard these guys that they were something special. “They will rip your head off!” Sam exclaims, “They have a fresh new sound that is a sure crossover hit.”

They have created an incredible new genre of music that combines an ambient mix, with rock, funk, and synthesizers. They combine the funk of the Red Hot Chili Peepers, the layered vocals of The Church, and the creativity of the Cure. He describes them as “Four incredibly nice guys, who have been creating their own unique sound for the past 10 years.”

There is Rudolfo on keyboards/synthesizer and vocals, Moss on bass and vocals, Beto on drums, and Manuel (aka Mani) who plays guitar and vocals. Sam describes each of them: Rudolfo is the brain of the band, Moss is the soul, Beto is the heart, and Mani is the spark. They agree that these monikers fit them to a tee, and without one you would not have the other.

So keep your eyes and ears open for Plugged!!, as they go into the studio to produce their first album, they are sure to be an incredible hit!
