Third Annual Jazz Festival

Tequila Festival gets bumped, Jazz Festival gets pumped!

 According to the Riviera Maya Tourist Board the Second Annual Tequila Festival has been temporarily postponed. Originally slated for the 17th, 18th, ad 19th of November, the Tequila Festival will be rescheduled, and the Third Annual Jazz Festival has been bumped up to the same weekend. Although you may not be getting free tequila, there are some incredibly talented musicians playing various shows throughout Playa del Carmen. Thursday November 17th, Central Park 8:00 PM. Free Entrance

Iraida Noriega and Magos Herrera will be kicking off the 3rd Annual Jazz Festival. Both world renowned Jazz vocalists, originally from Mexico City, will be performing together on a collaborative effot called Soliluna.

Manelo - Local jazz musician out of Cancun will also be performing for the opening night at the central zocalo near the Cozumel Ferry dock.

The Jazz All Stars/ Las Voces de Jazz- Surely to be a musical treat 4 incredibly talented voices in the Jazz world will be performing together. Magos Herrera, Iraida Noriega, Elizabeth Meza and Cecilia Toussaint will be belting out a cacophony of complex jazz tributes.This combination of four of the best voices of Mexico will be a unique event never seen before. These fantastic voices will be accompanied by great Mexican musicians such as Enrique Nery, Cristóbal López and the brothers Enrique, Eugenio and Fernando Toussaint. If you are a jazz buff this is an event not to be missed!This performance will also be recorded for a live cd.

Aguamala, a local favorite will also be performing, and they are also the hosts of this years festival!

Saturday November 18th, Mamitas/Tukan Beach 8:00 PM. Free entrance

Mint Condition - exploding onto the R and B scene in the mid 80's, Mint Condition will be sure to rock the beach with features from their new album, Living the Luxury Brown, in their first time performing in Mexico.

Ivan Lins, from Brazil, a contemporary jazz pianist and composer will round out the show with his unique style.

Sacbe - For this unique occasion the talented brothers Toussaint reunite to accompany the Master Lins to revive his incredible original repertoire.
