Send in your photos from Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya.

We were recently sent a photo that we thought everyone would like to check out. This then got us thinking; maybe we could showcase a standout photo once a week, or ever other week, depending on the response.

If you have a photograph of something or someone, in Playa del Carmen or other parts of the Riviera Maya, and you think it deserves a round of applause, send it our way. We will then check it out, and maybe we will choose your photo to post on the front page of Playa Maya News. All we need is the photo, your name, a brief description of the photo, and what type of camera you used (optional).

This photograph was taken on May 12th, 2007 during a lightning storm in Playa del Carmen. The photographer, Doug Auld, was standing on his balcony looking south from 5th Avenue and 34th Street. Doug is originally from Hoboken, New Jersey and used a Canon 20 D camera.
