More bang for your buck at the Burrito Brothers in Playa del Carmen.

Recently a large group of us wanted to get together for dinner out, but we didn't want to break the bank so we decided to try a new restaurant, the Burrito Brothers, in Playa del Carmen. We went in earlier in the day to let them know there would be between 10 and 15 people around 7 for dinner and they were delighted!

The Burrito Brothers in Playa del Carmen Although they had set up a table for us inside once we arrived we all decided on sitting on the patio for a bit more breeze and they were happy to oblige. We arrived at different times and they didn't skip a beat. Service was quick and all drink orders were taken without a blink of an eye or any mix-ups even on high maintenance drink orders like a Rum Pintado; rum, mineral water, splash of coke, lots of ice, squeeze of lime.

The table was full of locals, and although we were foreign locals, they treated us like we were their neighbors making jokes and having fun with our group. They brought chips, a variety of salsas, and chichurron de queso, which is fried cheese, complimentary to the table. The cheese, as sinful as it was, was terrific with their green spicy salsa and it barely got to be placed on the table before it was gone. We perused the menu and all decided on burritos rather then tacos, I mean we were at Burrito Brothers after all. All burritos come with your choice of flour or corn tortillas, rice, beans, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo salsa, plus your choice of meat and they are all between $35.00-$40.00 pesos,

The Burrito Brothers in Playa del Carmen We decided on a variety of burritos, Tinga chicken, Aracherra, Yucatecan pork, and the vegetarian, which comes with rajas con crema, a mix of onions, cream, poblano chilies, and corn. Everyone was absolutely raving about the choices they had made, but the 2 vegetarians at the table said the veggie burrito had a bit too much cream and corn. Although no one ordered tacos there was a wide variety to choose from including the classic pastor and aracherra tacos and they were only between $8.00-$15.00 pesos per taco. Beers were inexpensive ($18.00 pesos) and served cold, cold, and we certainly put a dent in their supply. Non- blender cocktails were available for only $35.00 pesos each, and there was a variety of sodas, juices, and flavored waters as well. Although there was not air-conditioning there were plenty of fans, and it was better in the summer heat to sit out on the patio as we did. I would absolutely recommend the Burrito Brothers, for a group outing, lunch on your own, take out, or delivery. They are sure to stick around in the ever changing market of Playa del Carmen with their yummy food, affordable prices, and friendly service.

The Burrito Brothers is located on the corner of 26th Street and 30th Avenue in Playa del Carmen. They are open 12:00 to 12:00 everyday and do home delivery as well. Call 984-879-3005 for home delivery or stop by for a cold one and great burrito!
