Family fun in Playa del Carmen. After nearly three years Planet Bowl has finally opened its doors in Playa del Carmen! We went and checked out the new bowling alley located in Centro Maya and chatted with the onsite manager and got the lowdown. Open every day from 10:00 AM until midnight, Planet Bowl has 14 lanes as well as 7 pool tables. The place is huge and very new and streamlined, and it will be a perfect place to hang out in the hot days of summer as the A/C was cranking. Although officially open today they will not have their inaugural party until their liquor licenses come through, and that could be anywhere from 2 weeks until the end of the world in December. Bowling costs $39.00 MN per game from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM and $59.00 MN per game after 4:00 PM. Pool will run you $15.00 MN to open the table and then a peso per minute after that; not cheap! They offer a variety of junk food on their menu; burgers, hot dogs, tortas, and French fries and the prices range from $50.00 MN to $120.00 MN for burgers etc. ,but prices are bit more spendy if you get a combo platter for a group. Beverages run from $15.00 MN for sodas and the beers will run you $30.00 MN per bottle or $50.00 MN a liter for draft beer.
