Who will be the next President of Mexico? We still may not know for another week or more....
Yesterday the 2006 Presidential elections took place in Mexico. In one of the closest races in Mexican history both leading candidates, Felipe Calderon and Manuel Lopez Obrador, are claiming victory saying they are the new President of Mexico.

Not so fast say voting officials with the votes down to fractions of percentage points, with Calderon at 36.9 percent and Obrador at 35.7 percent, they have to conduct an official count that begins this Wednesday. Some say that violence and demonstrations could ensue when one of the opposing candidates get the news that they have officially lost. Only time will tell in this dead heat of an election of the final result, and hopefully this won’t be a replay of the election debacles of 2000 and 2004 in The United States.
