How you can help with the relief efforts in Tabasco.
One of our readers sent us a public service announcement on
how we can help our neighbors in the state of Tabasco get clean drinking water.
In addition, there are various drop off spots, in Playa del Carmen and the
Rivera Maya, for non-perishable food and clothing items as well as fundraisers
that will be helping to raise money for the relief efforts. Om Hotel and Lounge Bar and the Coffee Cafe (look for further information below) are two local Playa del Carmen businesses that are helping with fundrasing and relief efforts. If you know of additional
drop off spots or fundraisers please let us know so that we can add them to our
list…..
Where and how to help in Playa del Carmen:
The Coffee Cafe in Playa del Carmen has an area in the cafe where you can drop off non-perishable food and clothing items.
Om Hotel and Lounge Bar
are hosting a fundraiser on Thursday November 8th to collect food and
clothing as well as donate 10% of their bar revenue to the fundraising
efforts.

The following public service announcemet was posted on www.hispanicvista.com
In an effort to
respond to the needs of the over 800,000 displaced flood victims the
recent flooding in the Mexican state of Tabasco, the
International Community Foundation (ICF) has
initiated a campaign to raise monies to provide safe drinking water
and direct aid to reduce the spread of cholera and other waterborne
diseases through the foundation's International Water Emergency Relief
Fund which provides immediate relief to communities and victims of
natural disasters in need of safe drinking water and health and
sanitation systems in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.
All donations made to
ICF's International Water Emergency Relief Fund will go to benefit the
Mexican Red Cross
delegations in Tabasco to provide emergency relief to the flooding
victims in those states. Without question, the
Tabasco flood is the worst natural disaster in Mexico's recent history
with its long term community based impacts paralleling the 1985
Mexico. So, ICF encourages donors to give generously to those in
critical need of assistance.
Donations to the benefit Tabasco flood victims can be
made to the International Community Foundation
or by mail to:
International
Community Foundation
11300 Sorrento Valley Road, Suite 115,
San Diego, Ca. 92121.
Thank you for your on-going support of ICF to address
the critical community based needs in the regions that we serve.
Sincerely,

Richard Kiy
