Il Pescatore

I love this place - Java Joe (coffee

shop owner - best bagels amd lattes in town) told us to try it, and I'm so thankful that he did!

The owner is an absolute jewel - so much so that she told me the secret to her red sauce is

Pelati tomatoes - (peeled) - she also said that Americans use too much garlic! HA! We dined

there twice on our last trip, and we can't wait to go back.

Last night we ate at Il Pescatore upon the very

strong recommendation of Italian friends. It did not disappoint! I had meat lasagna and my

husband had spaghetti with meatballs. Simple food, but when prepared with freshly made pasta and

delightful sauces, it's was unbelievably good. My lasagna had six layers of the lightest,

freshest pasta I have ever tasted, making the dish simultaneously rich and light. I savored every

single bite! It's also worth mentioning that the bottled wine selection was quite good, AND the

wines by the glass were exceptional. We also found the family atmosphere perfectly charming.

Overall, it was an excellent meal for a reasonable price and we cannot wait to eat there

again!

Our meal started well with the intriguing

dinner rolls stuffed with sour cream. Delicious.



The pasta of my beef lasagna was

not even close to al dente. It was so soft and overdone it was ridiculous.



My

wife loved her salad, which was indeed small as promised by the waiter, but the Tiramisu was a

gelatinous joke. It was not even remotely close to an authentic Tiramisu lacking any of the

traditional layering of ingredients. You could see no espresso at all.

The service was very

good.

Some of the best Italian food is

served here with the constant attention of the owner. Pastas are made fresh and the sauces are

terrific. We stop by on each trip.

We ate there yesterday. The

food and the service was outstanding. We were welcomed by the owner, who constantly checked on

us and offered suggestions based on our preferences and tastes.



Make sure you

are taken to the right Il Pescatore. We found out that there is another restaurant by the same

name at one of the large local resorts.

Food is wonderful, try

the gnocchi. Went 4 times and will go back next year. Actually, it's the best Italian food we

have ever had.
