Trendy, upscale lounge serves gourmet fare, and high end cocktails.
Diablito's Cha Cha Cha is located in the coveted hot spot of the ever expanding 12th Street. From 10th Avenue to the beach, 12th Street has become party central in Playa del Carmen. Starting off closer to 10th with DJ’s, Santanera, Bali, and soon to be Coco Bongo, it continues past Mosquito Blue and the Glass Bar down to the beach.
As you cross First South towards the Blue Parrot it is the 4 corners of party with Diablito’s in the former D’Gabi locale, Litros, Kartabar, Om, and of course the Blue Parrot. It is a sure thing that if you hit them all on your way down the street you will be good and toasted by the time you reach the now trendy Blue Parrot Beach Bar.
Diablito’s opened only 8 short months ago, but it is owned by the same group as Santanera so it quickly became another hot spot to pre-funk or grab a bite. It is an upscale tiki style lounge and eatery and although it is a bit spendy, they earn their keep with quality food and impeccable service. Try their vanilla martini (80 pesos), although it was sweet it was perfectly chilled and had a delicious secret flavor they wouldn’t share. The Tanqueray and Tonic packed a punch (70 pesos), and came in a pint sized glass to ensure your thirst was thoroughly quenched.

The Sea Bass Skewers (120 pesos) come highly recommended with the delicate fish and a tangy Asian style sauce they were a true taste sensation. The seared sea scallops (100 pesos) were their only snafu. Although the flavor and presentation were awesome they were a bit overcooked causing them to be on the tough side, but they certainly deserve a second try. Whether you stop by for a cocktail or wanto try some appetizers you are in for a real treat if you try Diablito’s Cha Cha Cha.
