I promised myself to not complain about the rain! I promised to appreciate every bit of it ...Finally some cooling off the scorching heat wave we have had ... and no need to water the lawn! But how can I not say anything when this torrential downpour so far, has lasted over 48 hours?

As a sailor, believe me I know about rain, wind, storm as in gale, and hurricane force......

How to deal with two house bound dogs looking at me with despair in their eyes, expecting a break in the deluge? ... Am I complaining? No ...remember... no need to water the lawn!

Now it is 60 hrs non stop of this wet stuff. I’m running in the garden emptying pots of freshly repotted plants... standing by the girls (My two sixty lbs. plus dogs) who are not finding it pleasant to do their business in these conditions!! I’m begging them to do what they have to do, even on the forbidden lawn that I revived from its misery...Wait….I’m interrupted in my contemplation by the running around the house of a man and a broom...<<..hurry ...water ... >> In a frenzy I follow him upstairs, and discover Joe, my husband, in the nude and on the terrace frantically pushing off mounds of water over the wall ... ...

By now the grass is underwater, and I can see it growing..what a treat! I went back to empty flower pots of their excess water .... picking up what the dogs finally deposited... and it's still raining, and pouring buckets!... But I do not have to water the lawn!

Checking the weather report, and the satellite view... Ok ..here it is ... we have quite a large storm hovering above the Peninsula. It should not last more than a couple of days....

We are the lucky ones; we live here, not like the poor tourists, who are visiting for a week! Some are depressed about a ruined vacation, and some make the best of it, meandering in town with huge umbrellas and smiling!

See...we are the lucky ones, living in paradise, where sometimes all is green, and stays green when it rains and pours buckets! and then we do not have to water our lawn!
