 The Sanar Clinic now offers extensive healthcare services in their new offices in Playa del Carmen.

Dr. Luis David Suarez, originally from Mexico City, moved to Playa del Carmen with his wife Alejandra in 2006 to open up the Sanar Clinic; a concept never before found in the area. Doctor Suarez uses the scientific method of diagnosing from a medical doctor’s perspective, but he often uses integrative and preventive medicine for treatment. Dr. Suarez is a licensed medical doctor, as well as an Acupuncturist, Phytotherapist, and Ozone Therapist. Along with his impressive educational background Dr. Suarez brought something else very unique to his practice: love for what he does; and a true passion to heal and help people.
This amazing combination quickly made him THE doctor to consult whether it was for a simple allergy or life-threatening medical issues such as Hepatitis C. Within months of opening his doors, he was a very busy doctor! No longer are you able to wander in for a quick appointment on your lunch break, but instead make sure to take the time to make an appointment at least a week in advance.
Dr. Suarez expanded his services and brought Dr. Will on board, another talented young doctor that specializes in Chiropractics and sports related injuries. Between the two of them you would go in for an hour or two and come out a healthier and happier person. He also introduced, and expanded upon, Ozone Therapy, a cutting edge therapy that can be used to boost your immune system, combat allergies, and diminish and eliminate skin rashes, along with a myriad of other ailments.
Over the next few years, it became obvious that this fledgling clinic was bursting at the seams in its current location so they began to look for the perfect location for a new suite of offices. In April 2010 they found their new home on 10th Bis between 20th and 25th Avenues in downtown Playa del Carmen.
With the new space they were able to expand even further on their services, and when I spoke to Dr. Suarez about the new project he explained that it is not only one thing that heals a person who is sick or ailing, but rather a holistic and integrated approach that aims at a general quality of life.
He explained that Acupuncture is a very powerful healing tool both spiritually and medically, and it has access to many spheres of the body. He also is a firm believer in Ozone Therapy which is a very important part of integrative medicine due to the fact that oxygen deprivation is a key in many chronic illnesses. Chiropractics, Immune Therapies, Detoxification Therapies, Nutritional and Physical Therapies are all keys to healing the whole body and person.

Dr. Luis Suarez - General Medicine, Ozone Therapy, Acupuncture, and Phytotherapy
General Practitioner from UNAM (Mexico National Autonomous University), he is a medical specialist in Acupuncture and Phytotherapy (UAM, Metropolitan Autonomous University). He also has two years' training as an Anesthesia resident, focusing mainly on pain management, one of the main interests of his practice. He is an active member of the Mexican Society of Ozone Therapy. He is CEO and one of the Founding Associates of Salud y Naturaleza de la Riviera Maya, SANAR, S.C.

Dr. Joseph Will - Chiropractics
Dr Joseph Michael Will graduated from New York Chiropractic University in 1997 and soon after traveled to Costa Rica where he learned to speak Spanish and immediately began seeing patients. Within a year’s time he was working full-time in his clinic in San Jose and also adjusting athletes in many diverse sporting events around the country.
In 2000 he received an offer to come and work in an even larger clinic in Cancun, and his desire to continue traveling and discover different cultures brought him to Mexico. A love of water sports and appreciation of Mexican culture, cuisine and climate has kept him here for over 8 years.
Dr Will practices Diversified Osseous Adjusting combined with postural assessment, trigger point and myofascial work, flexion-distraction technique as taught by Dr. James Cox, which develops therapeutic stretching regimens for all of his patients. He has been involved with the clinic since its inception, and is regarded to be the local area expert on chiropractics and sports related injuries.

Dr. Morgado - General Medicine, Ozone and Detox Therpaies.
Dr. Morgado graduated from UNAM (Mexico National Autonomous University), and has been actively practicing medicine for the past 28 years. He moved to Playa del Carmen in 2008, and began work at the Hospital Integral located on 15th and Juarez. He worked in Obstetrics as well as assisting in general surgeries, and general patient care. When he first met Dr. Suarez he was fascinated by his holistic approach.
Coming from a fairly strict medical background, Dr. Morgado was not familiar with many integrative approaches in the medical world, but when Dr. Suarez invited to join the team he jumped at the chance to take on a new challenge. He now is their primary doctor for Ionic Detox, a therapy that utilizes ions and electrolytes to eliminate toxins through the feet. The therapy can help to eliminate toxins in the body, and can be very helpful in patients that suffer from diabetes, chronic fatigue, gout, depression, circulation, addiction, respiratory problems, kidney and liver issues, allergies and a myriad of other health challenges. He is also very involved in the practice of Ozone Therapies, which also complements the Detox Therapies.

Dr. Gabriel Ayala - General Medicine, Dermatology and Esthetic Medicine.
Dr. Ayala graduated from Universidad La Salle in general medicine and then went onto specialize in dermatology and esthetic medicine. He moved to Playa del Carmen in 2008 and was drawn to alternative therapies and integrative medicine. He joined the Sanar clinic part-time once he arrived, but now has his own office in the new clinic, and is quickly building a solid client base and stellar reputation. He specializes in a variety of non-surgical therapies that address anti-aging and overall skin health: Esthetic Ozone Therapy; Facial Mesotherapy; Peels, Facials, Micro Dermabrasion;, and Botox. He also offers vitamin therapy that helps with overexposure to the sun; a MUCH needed service when living in the Caribbean! |

Adriana del Valle - Physical Therapy and Therapeutic Massage.
Originally from Argentina, Adriana has been in practice since the late 90’s, and four years ago she was on her way to Canada to practice, when she found Playa del Carmen; she never left. She joined the Sanar team in 2010 and works closely with Dr. Will in rehabilitation massage offering relief from sprains, sports related injuries, capsulitis, tendinitis, and back problems as well as overall body mechanics.

Diana Garnica - Nutrition and Culinary Management
Diana graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Nutrition. Originally from Mexico City, she has traveled throughout Mexico working with government hospitals and community healthcare programs. In 2008 she went to Switzerland to study culinary management; working with whole and organic foods, and simultaneously working in an organic restaurant. In 2010 she returned to Mexico, and was encouraged by her brother, currently living in Playa del Carmen, to come and visit the Sanar Clinic. She made the move and is now the resident expert on health and nutrition at the clinic, and will be continuing her education through an online program with the University of Barcelona to complete a post graduate degree in clinical nutrition and advanced food science.

I am not only a friend of the clinic and doctors, but I am also a long time patient. I have been to Dr. Suarez countless times for acupuncture and Ozone therapy, Dr. Will has adjusted me when I have had chronic pain issues as well as maintenance care, Dr. Morgado has treated me with his Ionic Foot Therapy, Dr. Gabriel has worked his magic on my face with his Ozone and Vitamin Therapies, and I have had consultations with both Adriana and Diana.
