At The Center for Corrective Myotherapy our intention is to bring the latest in massage therapy and corrective injury work to Playa del Carmen and the Mayan Riviera, in Mexico.

Through the healing quality of touch, we believe that the language of the body can be skillfully read and interpreted to assist the body’s ability to self-heal. We practice the holistic approach, maintaining that all things are connected and address each session with the BODY – MIND – SPIRIT philosophy. The Center for Corrective Myotherapy, located in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico, is a United States licensed professional facility with an accepted accreditation to practice and teach the alternative health care profession of therapeutic massage, myotherapy and related courses in the Republic of México.

Guided by Licensed Massage Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapy Instructor and Colonic Therapist, Mauro Jaramillo and his wife, Ginny Stewart-Jaramillo, the Center is a one-of-a-kind holistic muscular treatment facility located in the Mayan Riviera. With licenses from New York State and New Mexico State, as well as a National Certification Board in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork diploma, Mauro has expanded the horizon in the world of body therapy by building a successful practice based on extensive education in the study of human anatomy as it relates to the muscular skeletal system. Mauro is a general practitioner who also specializes in corrective injury work.

“In the field of alternative healing, I have developed my individual style of body therapy to proficiently assess and effectively treat with sound methods that are soothing, rehabilitating, restorative and customized to my client’s specific needs and requirements.”

The mastery of “stress reduction” lies in the body language! Through the healing quality of touch, studies have proven that skeletal muscles respond with direct bio-chemical effects causing reduced stress.

Whether a one time massage therapy treatment, or a series of myotherapy treatments, whatever needs to be addressed is geared towards making a difference in the allotted time frame.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

The Center for Corrective Myotherapy is delighted to be a participant in the only Alternative Health Clinic in the Maya Riviera. “Angel Notion” located in Nic te Ha, Playa del Carmen, is a non-profit facility designed to help all those who walk through the door. Beginning in June of 2004, every Wednesday Mauro and Ginny volunteer their time to the clinic. Mauro sees up to 10 patients each Wednesday and Ginny works on specific projects, including coordinating alternative health practitioners visiting from other parts of the world wanting to participate as volunteers at the clinic. The clinic is seeking funding to be able to offer practitioners a more permanent status. The Center for Corrective Myotherapy is exploring the possibility of developing its teaching program in Nic ta ha, Playa del Carmen.

The Center for Corrective Myotherapy has also established a scholarship program where the Center calls home, Puerto Morelos, so that the fortunate can help the less fortunate by sponsoring treatments for them. The Center offers a reduced rate to the sponsor and provides treatments to those in need.

The following is an example of some techniques used in a professional practice. Orthopedic and Medical Myotherapy: Neuromuscular Techniques, Craniosacral, Myofascial/Soft Tissue Mobilization, Connective Tissue, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point. A professionally trained therapist will take the time to access and evaluate an individual’s situation and in some cases will perform “tests” to determine the type of bodywork therapy required prior to any application. Proper therapeutic assessment is vital to a proficient result and not to be confused with a medical diagnosis.
