feetBy: Susan Heart

Get ready for the holidays by taking care of your feet!

Yes, they’re here, once again, and if I may add….. So Soon. Weren’t we just celebrating New Years Eve 2003/04??? Well, we have to think about our shapes, before we gouge ourselves with holidays’ gastronomic fan fair.

Let’s start with….. feet! I bet you’re on your feet a lot as you are starting to run around buying goodies. Well, how is your lower back feeling? And what about your shoulders? Are they tired, sore, achy?? I bet all three. Let’s see if you can relax your feet first. Your feet are the gateway to the rest of your body. There are so many reflex points on your feet. That’s why reflexologists make people feel good, just by working on their feet.

I know this will sound funny, but do you have a baking `rolling pin’ around? If not, how about a 4 inch long `unopened can’ that is about 3 inches in circumference? ................

Sit in a chair, and put either one on the floor and put one foot on it. Yes, you read correctly. Put the arch of your foot on the `rolling pin’ or `can’. Now, put a little bit of pressure on it and just roll your foot back and forth on it. Roll to the inside of the foot, the outside, the toes, and the heel. Get EVERY spot on your foot.

Do this for about 3 minutes on each foot. Don’t forget to relax your mind and breathe…. How do you feel? Ahhhh…. Didn’t that feel nice? It took the pressure off the foot and I bet your back and shoulders are more relaxed as well.

And ladies were you wearing high heeled shoes lately? Your body will thank you if you do this after a long night of dancing or just walking on those Playa Streets in those shoes.

Susan HeartThis simple tip can be done while on the computer as well. Place the roller, on the floor, under your desk and roll your feet as you type. Your frame of mind will change once your feet are relaxed.

Until next time…..Be well and breathe… Susan Heart

p.s. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We have so much to be thankful for. We are living, happy and share a place we call PARADISE…..
