Did you ever feel that there is there's so much beauty in the world – that you felt like you could not take it - like your heart's going to cave in?

Well that’s what Margarita Montalvo felt like when she first came to Playa del Carmen 10 years ago. She arrived with a big smile and a dream of living in paradise. 10 years later, she is the proud proprietor of one the Riviera Maya’s most important health spa facilities – The Natural Spa.

Born in Veracruz and living in Villahermosa in Tabasco, Margarita came to Playa del Carmen on vacation a few times………. And fell in love with it’s colors, it’s beauty, in natural flavor….

Subsequently, she moved to Playa del Carmen with the idea to work and live in paradise. Margarita first took a job at the Maeva Hotel – now called the Gala Resort. At first, she worked at the front desk. Then, she moved in to manage their Spa.

“It was a great job” said Margarita “At the Spa, I learned how to professional manage a big organization – lots of people”.

Margarita was actually introduced to the Health Industry by her mother who is a cosmetologist. At an early age, her mother taught her the ways of health and beauty.

“From my mother, I received the fine touch, the personal, and the unique style that is Mexico – from the Hotel experience, I learned the professional business side of managing a professional world class organization” says a smiling Margarita.

Along the way, Margarita attended many formal schools to learn more – the University of Vanguardia and others.

With this wealth of education an experience, Margarita was ready to go on here own and meet a new challenge.

At first, she started doing massages on the beach in front of the Alhambra Hotel – a one person operation. As clients grew, she decided to go for it.

2 years ago, she opened “Natural Spa” on Constituyentes and that grew into a second location on 5^th Avenue.

“During the high season, we now have between 10 – 12 therapists at each location. It’s incredible” says a thrilled Margarita.

“I love this place. It is my home now. You know, with passion anything is possible. I came here with it and I look for people who have it as well when choosing people who join our team. I think it’s a major reason why our clients keep coming back to our facility and we honor it with great pride” Margarita express. “To me, if you know your product, work with passion, and love your client, one can make it a big success….. without and one risks failure.”

Natural Spa offers products services in Temazcal, Massage, Shiatsu, Sauna, Reflexology, Lympahtic Drainage, Fangotherapy, Homeopathy, Facials, Waxing, Pedicure, Manicure, Slimming Treatments, and more………including Hair Styling.

They work with products from L’Oreal, Pebonia, Biobel, CV Primary Essence, and more…….and utilize the latest in machines from Preso Therapy and Lasers.

Natural Spa is open from 10am to 9pm during the middle season and 9am to 10pm during the high season. They have 2 locations to serve you: On Constituyentes, between 1^st and 5^th and on 5^th Avenue, across from the El Tukan Hotel.
