Tucked away just off 30th Avenue, you may not notice it a first glance, but once you step inside, Blue Spa is a relaxing space to get a variety of spa treatments.

Owner, Maria Elena Ugalde, or Mari as she is know to her many clients, has created a great atmosphere to enjoy a special pedicure, manicure, facial, or relaxing massage. Originally from Mexico City, Mari moved here from Jalisco about two and a half years ago, and in February it will be 2 years since she opened the doors of Blue Spa. She has been doing spa and beauty treatments for the past 5 years, and she brings with her a wealth of knowledge on beauty and skincare.

One of her proudest accomplishments was raising 4 successful children whom she speaks of with pride, and admiration, and she is currently awaiting the delivery of her first grandchildren, twins, who will be arriving any day now. When asked about her business she says she enjoys the laid back relaxed atmosphere, and her clients, who come from all over the world. Although she works alone she has a variety of independent contractors that she can call upon if needed, and she is currently looking to hire an employee to help her run her growing and expanding business.

She only uses quality products, some of which are imported from the United States, and Europe, as well as natural products that are available locally. Ask for the mint foot mask, or choose from a variety of Mac polishes to complete your special pedicure, and it will make you feel spoiled and pampered. She is a firm believer in cleanliness and sanitation, using tea tree oil based products, barbiclean, an antiseptic solution, and an autoclave, which uses ultra violet light to clean manicure, and pedicure tools. With her gentle touch, and genuine amiable personality Mari will not only make you feel completely welcome, but she will give you a great spa treatment.
