I received an email advertisement for a private food tasting from Chakra on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 8pm. They will be sampling their authentic Indian and Thai recipes.

Since this was from a standard Riviera Maya mailing list, I'm not sure what "private" actually means. However, the event is taking place on the upper level of Om, located at Calle 12 and 1st Avenue.

Do you guys have any additional information about Chakra? Where it will be located or when it will be opening?

I actually have done some work for the owners of Om and this is what I know thus far:
They originally added the restaurant to the second floor of the Om Hotel and Lounge Bar (located on the corner of 12th and Primera Privada)last February, but have re-vamped/re-named the restaurant Chakra which will be serving Indo- Asian cuisine. It is my understanding that the tasting tomorrow is for anyone who wants to come and try what they will be serving on the menu, and that after tomorrow night they will be open for business. I am excited to have new food in Playa! We have yet to have an Indian restaurant so we will have to see what they have on the menu.......yumm
