I am looking for clubs in cozumel, tulum or playa del carmen that have good house music, or dance music with live bongo drummers or even beach parties with good djs that play quality music not just cheesy mainstream club stuff... anyone know of any "secret spots" or local spots that are good and not too touristy?

In Playa I would suggest checking out Bodeguita del Medio in Paseo del Carmen (Live Cuban music), Mambo Cafe located on 6th between 10th and 5th Avenue (Live Cuban music), Retro located on 4th between 5th and the beach (Live dance/rock), Santanera located on 12th between 5th and 10th Avenues (Good DJ/house).

In Tulum I would check out Friday parties at Mezzanine, Saturdays at OM Tulum, and Sundays at La Zebra. Mezzanine and Om Tulum spin good tunes on the beach, and La Zebra has live Salsa music on the beach every Sunday. As far as Cozumel goes I am not really sure on that one.....hope this helps!
