Angel Notion was founded in 1999 by Lavonna Redman. The Non-Profit Organization is dedicated to providing free or affordable health care to the under served in our community and in the rural Mayan Villages of the State. Since its’ beginning, more than 120 children’s lives have been saved through open heart surgery. At the Clinic “Center for Alternative Medicine Nicte-Ha” seeing more than 2,000 patients a month, where we believe in a holistic approach to health, focusing on education and prevention. This wasn’t even possible with out the financial contributions from Community of Playa del Carmen
Services we offer at the Clinic are: cutting edge ozone therapy, homeopathy, chiropractic, physical therapy, bio-magnetism, psychology, general medicine, neural treatment, and acupuncture, prenatal attention, aerobics for pregnant women, music therapy, optometry, dentistry, pediatrics, and psychology.

Our Permanent Programs include: Pediatric, Diabetes Club, Prenatal Club.
We also have special Missions such as Special Surgeries, including cleft palate and facial deformities (sponsorship Michigan State University), Diabetes Testing, Prevention Education and Treatment (Sponsored by American Diabetes Association)Dental Clinics (including brigades in the schools), Optometry, Orthotics for Kids, Speech Pathology, Free Hearing Aids by Starkey.

Angel Notion Celebrates 10th Anniversary:

At the Clinic on February 11, Angel Notion received the Kladar Family from Idaho. This family of 5 children has sold over 3000k dish towels in order to collect money to save another child's life, a child who will die without heart surgery. They have collected more than $15,000 U.S. and handed over a check to the children in need of surgery in the presence of many local dignitaries and the press. Their campaign is called "Kids Helping Kids Fix Broken Hearts" fixed 14 little children’s heart right here in Cancun! Read about their incredible story on the blog at angelnotion.org/blog.

March 23 to 26, a total of 14 children had surgeries in Hospital Amerimed in Cancun. 12 had open heart surgeries and 2 had catheretizations, thanks to the "Kids Helping Kids" campaign and a few other private contributors.

On March 9 to 13, 2 teams of medical professionals came from Michigan State University. One team, from the School of Osteopathic Medicine saw patients who suffer from spasticity problems and the other team, Speech Sciences, saw patients with deafness, stroke victims and those with cleft palates, as well as follow-ups on post-operative patients.

March also saw a Dental Mission at the Nicte-Ha Clinic. Dr. Don and Dr. Sam, along with nurse/hygienist Colleen From Michigan saw many patients, young and old.

Our Pediatric cardiologist Dr. Mary Porisch also evaluated 8 cardiac children for possible future surgeries and Catherizations in San Antonio Texas.

Dr. Peter LaPine was here in the end of March planning a study abroad program for Michigan State University along with the Mayor and the city of Playa del Carmen.

In April, Dr. Patricia Fox. plastic surgeon from Schenectady, NY, evaluated patients for surgeries that will be done in Playa del Carmen in the near future.


Dental Hygienist Corinne Whitney from Minnesota is doing another mission on the 15th and 20th of April for children 4 years and older. The children get their teeth cleaned, and she also teaches them how to care for their mouth and teeth properly.
