What makes this little Viva Margarita! bar so special? Let’s see for starters …..they offer thick and delicious frozen margaritas in a multitude of flavors. You can try strawberry, lime, mango, grape, orange, tangerine, tamarindo, jamaica or pina colada flavors. Instead of plain salt on the rim you will find a combination of chile, sugar, lime and salt. They are definitely unique and definitely a taste sensation.

Last night PMN and friends from all over town came together to celebrate their win. In the spirit of fun Viva Margarita! passed out Cuervo Especial t-shirts and fun little balls and we even enjoyed some free margaritas ..............

Owner Bernardo Flores Rubio asked the presentation be made to his 2 hard working staff Ericka and Kike who truly deserved the honor. Kike makes the delicious concoctions and Ericka will help you choose just the right drink from their wide selection and always serves it with a smile.

Viva margarita! is owned by 2 fun loving partners Bernardo Flores Rubio and Carlos Leal. Both are originally from Mexico City.

They have only been open since December 6, 2003. It came into existence because Bernardo wanted to live in Playa del Carmen and Carlos has expertise with tequila. They picked their location in the Paseo del Carmen Mall because of it’s proximity to Playacar, the ferry and 5^th Avenue.

Viva Margarita! actually offers more than just margaritas. They also have pina coladas, Baileys Colada, Midori Colada and most other cocktails you can think of. They partner with the neighboring restaurants to offer tacos, salads and sandwiches. Their goal is to give better and complete service. Tacos and tequila actually go very well together.

Future plans are to break the record of one person drinking 9 of their margaritas – that is going to be a party! Live music and Karaoke! Any volunteers?

Any night you show up at Viva Margaritas! You will find it full of people who just want to have fun and relax. This is very easy to do if you get one of their awesome beanbag chairs! It is a great place to go before dinner or after dinner or just to mellow out one night and enjoy Playa. Try it. You'll be glad you did.

Viva margarita! is open for your enjoyment from 10:00 am to 2 am. They are located in the Paseo del Carmen mall just outside of Playacar.
