Runaway Models attend opening night bash under the Moon!
by Kid Ghalahad
The Fashion TV (FTV) channel in sponsorship with Blue from American Express and the Fideocomiso invaded Playa del Carmen to kick off their week long activities planned in and around the Riviera Maya.
It was a who’s who of Playa del Carmen as the best trend setters from around the world converged on Playa’s newest and most chic hot spot – The Moon Bar.
Complete with 3 floors of bars, lounges, beautiful people, and even a community Jacuzzi, the models created a buzz in the Paseo del Carmen. It was a Revolution Rock and Playa is still in state of shock..................
Who’s the winner for best margarita in the PMN Best of the Best contest?
Viva Margarita!
What makes this little Viva Margarita! bar so special? Let’s see for starters …..they offer thick and delicious frozen margaritas in a multitude of flavors. You can try strawberry, lime, mango, grape, orange, tangerine, tamarindo, jamaica or pina colada flavors. Instead of plain salt on the rim you will find a combination of chile, sugar, lime and salt. They are definitely unique and definitely a taste sensation.
Last night PMN and friends from all over town came together to celebrate their win. In the spirit of fun Viva Margarita! passed out Cuervo Especial t-shirts and fun little balls and we even enjoyed some free margaritas ..............
The peeps who rule the new 5th Avenue aka - Little Italy - produced another wild street party where those in the know, those getting in the know, and those who don’t care but just want to Shake their Playa Groove Thing came, saw, and partied.

Caribbean,Music, Entertainment and Culture – great words to describe Playa del Carmen’s newest club.
This week saw the inauguration of Lumpax, a new beachfront nightclub with an electronic musical theme that is attracting many living in Playa del Carmen. Our host was Mr. Ricardo Miuler, general manager, whom we had the pleasure to speak with about this new addition to our night life.
PMN: What does the name Lumpax stand for?
R. Miuler. Lumpa is a Mayan word meaning, world of music and the addition of the X represents a trilogy now that all our other bars have an X in them, Captain TutiX and the AluX.............
Have a Real Cuban Cigar in the Riviera Maya But How Real?

Have a Real Cuban Cigar in the Riviera Maya!
But How Real is that Cuban? Is it a Fake? Find Out!
Several years ago, I was introduced to the world of Cigars by a very good friend. I had never smoked before (still no cigarettes) but I got the Cigar bug immediately. I was ecstatic with the amount of flavors and textures a good cigar brings. Being also a wine aficionado, cigars have unique characteristics that can make it smooth, mild, firm or loose depending on the kind of tobacco leaves used in it.
Since Cuban Cigars are illegal in the U.S., The Riviera Maya has always had that special attraction for Cuban Cigars to US visitors. Unfortunately, fake Cuban Cigars are one of the most common products in the Riviera.
A simple walk down the Quinta Avenida (5th Avenue) will bring an outstanding array of tobacco shops with “Real Cuban Cigars”...but how real?
What would a real city be without a local gay scene? Well, Bloo, the new gay club in town is providing the answers. Swank, Hip, Discret, Yet Open to the Mind, Bloo had it's coming out party last night and Playa's still buzzin'.
Peeps were out looking for some go-go boys, riot girlies, bikers and other local neighborhooders to meet the same in the heat of the night.
Bloo's - the place to go for Playa del Carmen's gay dance enthusiasts and other open mind scenesters -- it's the most uninhibited and unpretentious dance club in town.
It's a true "come as you are" joint: You can dress as casual, swanky or slutty as you dare. The music mix starts out on the pop side of life and goes deep house in a hurry, and the crowd happens in a big way at midnight.
Not for the small-minded, Bloo is all about the scene - off the path, behind the walls, and deep in the depths.
