Playa del Carmen partied the night away celebrating Independence Day!
Local Playenses and tourists visiting the Rivera Maya flocked to the zocalo in downtown Playa del Carmen to participate in the annual El Grito. As 11:00 PM approached on Friday evening noise makers blasted and people got ready to yell Viva Mexico! The town exploded at 11:00 PM as the governor addressed the masses, and you could hear Viva Mexico! echoing through the streets. As the sky lit up with fireworks happy party goers were in a celebratory mood; bars and nightclubs were packed as people celebrated into the wee hours.....
Bar Ranita Celebrates Five Years in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen was out in full force last night to celebrate Bar Ranitas fifth birthday.
The crowd spilled into the street Saturday night to toast Ranitas fifth year. The great locals that patron Bar Ranita, the Corona girls, DJ playing his Ranita classic collection all added up to a great celebration. With a new general manager and other changes, Bar Ranita is set for another five years.

This past weekend there were more parites that you would have thought it was Christmas time! Between DJ's birthday party, Tequila Barrels 6th Anniversary party, and the Second Annual International Reggae Festival, there was plenty to do and plenty to see! People came out in droves to celebrate and we caught it on film! So a special congrautlations goes out to the Tequila Barrel and Dj's, and a "Jah Rastafari!" to Carlo at Dr. Taco for helping the Second Annual Reggae Festival come to Puerto Morelos! The 2006 Tequila Expo opened last in Playa del Carmen, with beautiful women, exquisite tequilas, and thumping tunes how could it be anything but fun?
The Tequila Festival will run through Sunday and it should be a "must do" on your list of fun things. With free entrance and about 25 tequila reps you will be sorry if you miss it! Check out the photos below.....

Tequila Festival kicks off this Thursday and runs through Sunday April 2nd, and Playa del Carmen will be filled with raucous and funfilled taste testers!
