Paulina Rubio weds at Xcaret Eco Park in Playa del Carmen.
Monday April 30th Mexican pop diva Paulina Rubio married Spanish
businessman Nicolas Vallejo Nagera at Xcaret, in Playa del Carmen.
With paparazzi clamoring for an exclusive photograph
of the famous duo security was tight as over 150 security guards were hired to secure
the local eco park from looky loos and wannabe wedding guests.
The intimate religious ceremony was momentarily put on hold as 4 helicopters
buzzed overhead to get a bird’s eye view as the internationally famous Rubio
tied the knot. Some guests, included
Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz and Puerto Rican soap opera actress Adamaris
Lopez, and they were given strict instructions on what not to bring to the ceremony
(cell phones, recording devices, and even watches were banned from the park).
Rubio and Nagera rented out the entire park and orchids, white roses, and
floating candles were brought in by the truck load. With the underground river
sprinkled with floating candles that led to the reception area , which was held
at the picturesque La Isla Salon, it must have been quite a spectacular site.
Rubio arrived on the entertainment scene after starting in the children's
group Timbiriche, but truly gained her superstar status when she made her solo
debut in 1992 with "The Golden Girl." Her other albums also include
"Pau-Latina" and "Ananda."
