Playa del Carmen partied the night away celebrating Independence Day! Local Playenses and tourists visiting the Rivera Maya flocked to the zocalo in downtown Playa del Carmen to participate in the annual El Grito. As 11:00 PM approached on Friday evening noise makers blasted and people got ready to yell Viva Mexico! The town exploded at 11:00 PM as the governor addressed the masses, and you could hear Viva Mexico! echoing through the streets. As the sky lit up with fireworks happy party goers were in a celebratory mood; bars and nightclubs were packed as people celebrated into the wee hours.....
