The students of Colegio Ingles have something to tell us. They put on what I would consider, an unusual for Christmas time yet appropriate series of presentations, celebrating man kinds Grand Spirit. The presentations are happening at Xcaret a fabulous location to begin with; then add a stage nestled part way into a cenote and you already have the start of impressive. It is however, the staff, teachers and children who bring it all the way through to fabulous! ............
With literature the children enacted snippets of various unmistakable books. Sculpture was even more intriguing as children came out in ones and twos covered in plaster or bronze and assumed the poses of various famous statues. Music and Dance was a fabulous showcase taking us from man’s beginning basic notes and wild movement to present day (often wild movement again; interesting).
We were treated to a very colorful showcase of Opera. What great voices such young children have! So great they were pre recorded and we could only slightly tell they were miming.
The segment on architecture celebrated famous cities and brought to life various events and culture throughout the world.
This Tuesday the Colegio Ingles secondary students will be performing at Xcaret at 5:30. I wonder what they will have in store for us all? Colegio Ingles is a bilingual private school located in Playa del Carmen and can be reached by phone at 984-803-3253 or web http://www.colegioingles-qroo.com.mx/.

On Friday we saw the elementary grades perform. We watched mesmerized as the children brought literature, sculpture, music, dance, paintings, and architecture to life in front of our eyes.
The segment on paintings again highlighted famous artists and their work. The children arrived onstage again in ones and twos and actually entered frames set on stage to assume the forms of various paintings in man kinds history.
What did Colegio Ingles tell us about man kinds spirit? I came away with the thought that you cannot hold us back and we can do anything! What a rich history we have; and better yet will be the future contributions of our children. Look out world! Picture: Part of the Colegio Faculty and staff
