If you want to learn a foreign language, while basking under the Caribbean sun, then Playalingua is the place for you! Playalingua is the sister school to a French language school based out of Switzerland. Owners, Raymond and Lucienne Favre, started their first language school, Le Bosquet, in Lausanne, Switzerland, and the school has been operating there for the past 32 years. They originally started a Spanish language school in Cancun, but once they visited Playa del Carmen they felt that it was a better compliment to their existing program in Switzerland, and in 1999 they opened their doors here in Playa del Carmen.
They have 9 classrooms that are specifically designed with learning in mind, and there are in-house accommodations so students can choose to stay on campus as part of their learning package. If students do choose to stay off campus, they can either stay with a host family, or Playalingua will help them find specialized accommodations to fit their individual needs.
There are additional activities offered daily, such as cooking or salsa classes, and the helpful and friendly staff are always available for recommendations on fun and interesting outings that are offered in the Playa del Carmen Community. So if you choose to come to learn in paradise, Playalingua can fill your individual needs, and make your learning experience a memorable one! For more general information or information on courses and fees, please visit their website at: In Playa del Carmen http://www.playalingua.com/ or call 984-873-3876 or stop by their facilities located on 20th Street between 5th and 10th Avenue right in the heart of Playa del Carmen. Although it has yet to be 32 years, they have built up a great reputation over the nearly 6 years that they have been open. The majority of their students come from Switzerland, Germany, England, the United States, and Canada. Although the strongest part of their language program is Spanish, they teach French, German, English, and Italian as well. All of their teachers are required to be native speakers of the language they are teaching, and the class sizes are limited to no more then 6 students to ensure an optimum learning environment.
The building was specifically designed with Playalingua in mind, so it boasts an incredible garden like setting, and all students have access to the pool in the middle of the courtyard. There is also a well stocked library that has 8 brand new computers to allow students to access the internet for research, or to keep in touch with family and friends.
