Providing Spanish Classes in Mexico ......Right here in Playa del Carmen International House is a world wide organization with 52 years of experience in the field of teaching languages and teacher training. Now we have a location right here in Playa del Carmen. Students arrive from all over Europe, the USA and Canada. Many North Americans choose to come here instead of Spain or South America to learn Spanish because Mexico is simply closer and considered safer. The school also has special classes for foreigners living in town who need to either learn basic Spanish or improve their Spanish.
Owner of the Playa facility, Ariel Lopez from Mexico City, opened the school in January of this year and it is already going strong. He tells us he looked at many different locations in Mexico but Playa was by far the most attractive location. Tere Gonzalez is in charge of running the school for him and Martha Conesa is the director of studies.
For all the students, they have a social program available every afternoon that could be anything from dancing, Mexican cooking, singing, Mexican movies, talks on culture or handicraft classes as they believe it is very important to learn and enjoy the culture of a country when you are learning the language. The school can even arrange accommodations for you; anything from an apartment to a traditional hotel to a stay with a Mexican host family. Every year International House has a promotional workshop for its agents; agents who come from its 127 branches in 42 countries. Last year it was in Rome. This year it is right here in Playa del Carmen.

International House
It is in a big, beautiful, colonial style house with a domed roof and terrace with a French restaurant on the ground floor. There are 12 spacious classrooms in total, all with air-conditioning and views of the gardens, which is full of exotic trees and plants. Many people walk in just to see the building.
They are proud that they only employ qualified trained teachers. In fact International House has its own training program they put all their teachers through. Then they keep only the best from that. Even once the teachers are hired they continually provide ongoing information and training to them.
What is really the concept? Ariel Lopez says “Come to a beautiful paradise and get first class, high quality instruction in Spanish and have fun at the same time.” What more can you ask for?
