This Saturday the 4th of December is the 1st Anniversary of Viva Margarita located in the Paseo del Carmen Mall! Yes, they won the PMN Best of the Best Contest for "Best Margarita". The really good news is all the drinks are 50% off from 8.00pm till 2am! ..........

by JP the Editor Let the Growth Begin, McDonalds is Your Kind of Place! McDonald's opened it's biggest store yet on the Careterra Federal in the parking lot of the Chedraui department store. For a McDonalds, it is humongous complete with a wonderful area for the kids to play. And for those of you who find the heat exhausting, go in and have a McFlurrie and you will freeze as the the blasting air condition will transport you to an Igloo outside of Yellowknife Canada! This place broke ground in February and it's already open. They build so fast here that you can barely blink your eye and boom, there it is!

  Try out some great wines and restaurants in Playa del Carmen! When one thinks of Mexico images of beautiful beaches, sparkling blue water, warm weather, and relaxation come to mind along with margaritas and an ice cold bucket of Corona, but wine? Not often do people affiliate Mexico with quality wine, and wine tasting. However, there are some great national wines as well as some exquisite choices from our neighbors to the south in Chile and Argentina as well as Italy.

Who’s the winner for best hamburger in the PMN best of the best contest? Sun ‘n’ Sand! This neighborhood burger joint rocked its competition proving it has the most succulent burgers around. With an extensive menu, including such burgers as the Hawaina or their famous BBQ burger, the Sun ‘n’ Sand is a must when you need to fulfill your burger craving.

  CLOSED Upscale dining in a laid back atmosphere.   Paul Brans, originally from Canada, moved here to Playa del Carmen a little over a year ago, from London, England, where he had lived for the past 20 years. Paul first came to Playa del Carmen, on a fluke, and like so many of us fell in love with the area. He was on his way to Venezuela with a group of friends for a South American holiday, when a civil war broke out, and a friend recommended Playa del Carmen instead. So he traded in dreary London weather, for warm Caribbean nights, and loves the change......
